Sharon McKinnis has been researching family histories for over twenty years. As a professional genealogist, her focus is on finding ancestors and relatives in the U.S. from the Colonial Era to the present day, of different ethnicities, enslaved and free people of color. She also assists candidates interested in joining lineage societies. She has a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College and is a member of Sons and Daughters of the United States Middle Passage, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and National Society United States Daughters of 1812 lineage societies, National Genealogical Society, and the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society. When not working, you’ll find her catching up on the latest entertainment or political news, enjoying great music, or watching a good mystery or costume drama.
