Cara graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in Family History/Genealogy and a Master’s degree in American History. Her expertise is in United States research with extensive experience writing personal and family histories. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and an adjunct faculty member at BYU-Idaho.
She has spent considerable time at the National Archives researching Dust Bowl migrants and the Great Depression and was previously employed by the Family History Library at BYU. While at BYU she also contributed to the research of maritime LDS pioneers. Having a knack for placing ancestors in the historical period in which they lived and learning details about their lives, she enjoys providing clients an enriched connection to their family members. Utilizing this unique skill, Cara has created historical documentary films, personal histories, family biographies and consulted at family reunions.
When she is not buried in research, Cara enjoys traveling, eating ethnic foods and backpacking in Southern Utah.
