Julie Stoddard, MSc, AG, is accredited in the U.S. Mid-South region. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Family History-Genealogy from Brigham Young University, with an internship at the Allen County Public Library. She recently completed a master's degree in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde. Her master’s thesis focused on using autosomal DNA to identify ancestors beyond the second great-grandparent.
Julie’s interest with family history started as a child from hearing stories and seeing the family artifacts and pictures that dated back to the Civil War era. She shares her passion for genealogy by helping others solve their tough research problems and teaching at various local and national conferences and webinars. Her personal philosophy is that there are very few brick walls once you understand all of the records that are available for an area. Her areas of expertise include the United States, especially southern U.S., and DNA research.
